Background Information

After earning a doctor of dental medicine degree oral and maxillofacial surgery requires four to six additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia residency training. While Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are best known for extracting wisdom teeth, they do that and much more – everything from reconstructing faces shattered by trauma to surgically correcting misaligned jaws to cancer surgery of the face and neck. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. McCormack manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, jaws and facial regions. Dr. McCormack practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from facial trauma surgery to corrective jaw surgery and dental implant placement. He can also diagnose and treat facial pain, treat maxillofacial pathology, and perform reconstructive surgery with bone grafting.

Dr. McCormack's staff is trained in assisting with I.V. anesthesia within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. He is board certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and has a license to administer general anesthesia that is issued by the state of Georgia.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Macon Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, P.C. are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of I.V. anesthesia and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies and are CPR certified.
